I just got this to work yesterday in a similar fashion with the same setup (Windows 10 and a Eachine/FlySky i6). I didn't spend enough time to get the USB dongle to work (I also got the PPM device to show up but the software wouldn't see it as an audio device), but the kit did have enough to get me up and running with the addition of a male-male audio cable. In this tutorial I wish show you how to easily upgrade the popular Flysky FS-i6 Tx (transmitter) from 6 channels to a 10ch radio with a quick firmware update. This upgrade will unlock the ability to use ALL of the i6 transmitters switches and pots (potentiometers/knobs) and works with all branding variations Flysky, Eachine, Turnigy ect. (as far as I know) Can't beat a 10ch radio for around $50 usd! Right? What you will need: The Goods 1. FS-i6 transmitter (Flysky, Turnigy, Eachine, no matter the branding) 2. Computer with Internet Connection 3. FS-i6 Data Cable (dongle) My Banggood Link, or it can be easily found on Amazon, Ebay ect for about $4-6usd with a quick search. First Things First: Thank You benb0jangles! Visit Github and download the latest programmer HERE. (V1.5 is most recent as of 2018) Select the .exe file and then click 'View Raw' to initiate the dialogue box and start the download. Once downloaded, go ahead and open the programmer application. (may need to 'Run As Administrator') Firmware Update Mode: Plug It In, Plug It In Connect the FS-i6 data cable to the back of the transmitters trainer port and plug in the USB. Pay attention to what COM port is populated when connecting the Tx, you will need this shortly. Now, while holding both sticks at full down and left, power on the transmitter. (Github Photo) This will enter the Factory menu. Press the down button until you see Firmware Update on the second page and press OK. It will ask if you are sure about entering the Firmware Update Mode, press OK, then select yes and press OK again to enter Update Mode. Now on the Programmer application, double check that the correct COM port is selected in the upper left corner, and click 'Open Port'. Once connected the current firmware will be displayed. (V1.10 in most cases) Simply click 'Program' and watch the green progress bar slide over to 100 percent. The transmitter will automatically reboot when finished. Click Close Port and disconnect the Data cable. The firmware update is now complete. Assigning Switches: Four More Channels Of Awesome! On the Tx, enter the Functions menu by holding the OK button. You will need to reassign the switches and pots by going to 'AUX Channels'. Notice now that the Tx shows a total of 10 channels! Set channels 5 through 10 to your personal preferences. When finished, hold the Cancel button to save and exit. Next, go to 'Display' under the Functions menu again and it will now display all 10 channels and their corresponding input values. Last But Not Least: Wrap It Up! Final step is creating new model profiles and binding to your receivers again, as in most cases any previous model setups will be lost. Now take advantage of those extra channels and put them to good use with whatever flight control firmware you're using and go rip the skies with your 10 channels of awesome!

The flysky series radio is an excellent beginner radio as they are cheap and have great features. These are often bundled with ready to fly quadcopters, sometimes they are setup correctly by the seller, but usually the arrive with stock settings. This guide will show you how bind and setup your flysky radio for your FPV quadcopter.
In this guide, I am using the flysky FS-i6 radio with the latest firmware, but all the menus and functionality are the similar across the other flysky radios (FS-i6, FS-i6S, FS-i6X).
A model is a profile on your radio that you use for each of your aircraft, and saves all the settings specific to that aircraft that you have setup. This is great as it lets you use the same radio controller on multiple aircraft.
By default, the flysky radios assign Auxillary channels 5 and 6 to the knobs on the radio. Unless you are more than 5 fingers, it is rather difficult to precisely rotate these knobs while flying to change flight modes or other parameters. So we assign the Aux channels to switches on the radio.

The process of binding your receiver to your radio essentially just pairs them so that the radio and receiver know that they are talking to each other, useful when flying with others. The basic principle for all flysky receivers is the same, but some specifics might differ from model to model. Some receivers use a bind button, others use a bind plug, so take note for your specific receiver.
If you find that your RX does not bind, it may be because it does not support AFHDS 2A, so disable that in the
RX Setup menu and try again. You also might want to try to enable and disable the PPM output option in the same RX Setup menu. If you are stuck, ask on our forums!

Having a failsafe is important in case your quadcopter loses signal with the radio, the quadcopter will know and can take appropriate action, instead of just flying away.
